ARTWORLD
Product Design
2020
At the beginning of 2020, we began work on Artworld, a new networking app dedicated to the art industry. This appropriately named platform will allow artists to gain exposure beyond their existing communities by making it easier to get their work in front of curators, gallerists and collectors. These art professionals will in return be able to discover artists and directly connect with them. Building trust was at the center of our thinking as it is imperative to encouraging connections.

We kicked off the project with a 3-day workshop to create a product canvas. Through collaborative exercises we defined a vision, a value proposition, brand values and a prioritized feature list.
We also interviewed art professionals from each user type to uncover their needs and the subtleties of the art industry’s social dynamics. This allowed us to make informed decisions and keep the user top of mind during the definition phase.

Art, is at the center of the experience, sparking new connections between collectors, curators, gallerists and artists
Museum Walls
Opening the Artworld app is like stepping into a digital museum. Art is prominently displayed, accompanied by discreet labels. You can look around by swiping through art, with information about each piece and the artist only a tap away.
A Trusted Network
Although anyone is able to download the app and look at art, features such as connecting, messaging and sharing art are reserved for members. Membership is only available by invitation from other members.

Art Professionals Only
Upon creating their account, members select from an industry-specific list of professional roles. This is to facilitate networking.
Easy Uploading
We focused on creating a frictionless experience for uploading artwork. We broke this flow into easy steps that visually communicate progress.
