THE UPLOAD
2020
UI/UX
Having merged, Viacom and CBS planned to launch their new brand internally with a social platform for their employees. With the incredible amount of content the two media giants produce, The Upload would be a platform for their global employees to share and celebrate their work. Our goal was bringing the new brand to life in the experience of creating and viewing content on the Upload.

Post Template
To enable ViacomCBS employees to create their own branded content, we designed a template that would allow them to create something unique while following the newly established brand guidelines.
8 Compositions
The template needed to look good in every way the user could modify it. So to design a successful template we considered the 8 possible ways the the post could be modified.
18 Themes
To create an exciting feed and give the user creative freedom, we designed 18 themes that rigourously followed the brand’s newly defined color rules.
5 sizes
Finally, for these posts to be independently displayed on screens across ViacomCBS’s global offices, we collaborated with engineers to create document that would inform a processor how to resize the posts into additional aspect ratios.

Web application
At the center of the Upload, is the feed of content created by employees. This feed is unique to other social platforms as the posts are all designed in the ViacomCBS brand. A post template is what allows all employees to create and share branded content.

Easy Editing
Interface elements indicate what is customizable and make it easy for nondesigners to create beautiful posts within the ViacomCBS brand. The experience is mobile optimized so that creation can happen out in the world and in real time.
